The mega-money terms United are prepared to offer Sanchez

With both Manchester clubs vying for the Chilean's signature, reports from the 'Daily Mail' claim that Jose Mourinho is willing to make Arsenal's forward the best-paid footballer in England, if he chooses Old Trafford.

On the 'blue' half of Manchester, Pep Guardiola has allegedly made it very clear to the 29-year-old that if he waits until his contract runs out in the summer, they would be prepared to offer him almost £70m in wages after avoiding a potential transfer fee.

However, according to the English newspaper, Manchester United are ready to go all out to secure Sanchez by offering a mouth-watering salary of £350,000-a-week and pay the London club a £30m transfer sum rather than force the player to run out the last six months of his contract at the Emirates.

If this is true, it would make the forward the best-paid footballer in the Premier League, moving him ahead of Paul Pogba's £290,000-a-week deal and demonstrating the 'Red Devils' intention to compete with City for trophies.

In an interview with reporters, the Portuguese manager said "If there is a fantastic opportunity on the table, you fight for that fantastic opportunity."

His comment suggests a certain level of confidence within the Manchester club that they have a fighting chance of 'stealing' the Chilean from their city rivals.
