The key parts of Messi's PSG contract

Leo Messi put an end to a long and prosperous career at Barcelona. According to president Joan Laporta, the rules enforced by La Liga stopped the club from registering their number 10.
PSG are waiting for him. Media in France believe it is a done deal that the Argentine will play his football in Ligue 1. A family member of the Qatari Emirs has reportedly confirmed that there is already an agreement between both parties. His arrival is reportedly about to become official.
'L'Equipe' revealed the key parts of said deal. They write that PSG will offer him a three-year contract, until June 2024. The last of these years will be optional. Messi will automatically become the best paid player at the club. 'L'Equipe' reports that PSG will pay him 40 million a year, five more than what Neymar is currently on, making him the highest earner at the Parc des Princes.
The newspaper reveals that Messi could have earned more if he had signed for PSG a few years back. For his part, the only thing that the Argentine requsted himself was to sign for at least a couple of seasons, a request that the French club were glad to accept. Again according to 'L'Equipe', there is a meeting scheduled for this Sunday. In it will be the PSG directive and Messi's representatives. Both want to have everything wrapped up as soon as possible.
However, PSG want to go about things the right way and their only interest isn't just signing Messi. Their priority, writes 'L'Equipe', continues to be the contract renewal of Kylian Mbappe. In order to achieve this, though, the accounts must add up.
It remains to be seen whether the club goes about things as planned and manage to convince Mbappe to sign a new deal, while also managing to add the superstar Leo Messi to their ranks as well.
