Every channel and every radio station has a different set of pundits, but who are currently the best in the business?
We run down our favourite pundits currently offering their opinion on soccer as a pundit…
Ian Wright
Ian Wright is a pundit that is full of life and plys his trade on a number of different channels. You’ll find him on the 'Fox Sports' channel and 'ESPN Live', which are always worth live streaming, while he is also a regular on the BBC and ITV for Match of the Day and England internationals.
Wright has long been a favourite pundit among fans and has been on our screens doing it now for well over a decade. As well as plenty of insight he offers a real unique personality that both entertains and educates.
Roy Keane
Wright also works well with Roy Keane, another pundit that is all over our screens currently. Not afraid to throw a few punches, the former Manchester United captain is regularly brutal when it comes to woeful defending and absent performances.
His criticism of David De Gea over the last year has been particularly noticeable and you
always know it's going to be box office viewing when he’s in the studio.
Gary Neville
Keane’s former teammate Gary Neville takes a slightly different approach and he’s become one of the most respective pundits in the game, working alongside Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football on 'Sky Sports'.
Their insight is among the very best in the game, and the analytical breakdowns of goals and styles of play really are a cut above. Not only that, he speaks with passion, particularly when it comes to how the game treats fans, most recently slamming the Premier League for charging fans £14.95 to watch their team live on TV.
Neville has real authority in a number of areas, not only understanding what it is like to be a top professional, but also a manager after his spell at Valencia, and as an owner with him the co-owner of Salford City FC.
Alex Scott
Alex Scott can be found on Sky Sports and the BBC and is one of the new faces breaking through as a talented and knowledgeable pundit.
The former Arsenal and England legend has proven herself as one of the best out there, and has proven a real hit on Super Sunday since arriving at Sky. Her profile is only continuing to grow and we can expect more to come, particularly with her being named the new host of A Question of Sport.
Whether she will step away from punditry duties in the future and take on more presenting roles, similar to Gary Lineker remains to be seen, but there;s certainly a bright future ahead.
