The first man in FIFA history to be named best player and best coach

Zidane won almost everything there is to win in the world of football as a player. Serie A, La Liga, the Champions League, World Cup, Euros... you name it.

But that wasn't enough for the 45-year-old, who has now taken the managerial aspect of the beautiful game by storm.

From two years in the Real Madrid dugout, Zidane has lifted the Champions League trophy twice and La liga, the Spanish Supercup, Uefa Supercup and FIFA Club World Cup once.

It's an incredible record for which he was deservedly rewarded for at Monday night's FIFA's 'The Best' ceremony in London.

Zidane was crowned 'The Best' Men's Coach of 2017, beating off competition from Chelsea's Antonio Conte and Juventus' Massimiliano Allegri.

Therefore, the former 'Los Blancos' midfielder has become the first to win the award for best player and best coach. It was in 1998, 2000 and 2003 that he was named 'FIFA World Player of the Year' and 14 years later, football's governing body presented him with the trophy recognising his work from the bench.

Zidane has now joined a list of highly respected managers to have won the coveted award, including Mourinho, Guardiola, Del Bosque, Heynckes, Low, Luis Enrique and Ranieri.
