The biggest earnings that clubs receive come from television income. Now that competitions are completely stopped because of COVID-19, not even a penny enters the coffers.
'Mundo Deportivo' has done the maths and affirms that if La Liga isn't played again, Madrid would miss out on 70 million euros.
That would be the figure that Madrid would still have to receive from television income. Until La Liga was stopped, they had already earned 160 million.
But clubs don't just live off the television income. Teams also fill their coffers thanks to fans attending the matches. In this regard, and according to the figures from the Catalan newspaper, Madrid would stop earning around 4.5 million euros per match that's not played. And another 100,000 euros because of the Bernabéu tour visits which aren't taking place...
Madrid are aware that, after the health crisis, difficult times will come. However, thanks to the good management of all these years, Real Madrid are well equipped to face these delicate moments.
