Theo Walcott put an end to his career as a Gunner by sealing a switch to Everton earlier this month, and he revealed how he came close to making a cameo appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The fifth film of the Harry Potter franchise, directed by the England winger's uncle David Yates, could have included a brief cameo from Walcott but he did not have enough time.
"My uncle, David Yates, was the director so he tried to get me in a film but I didn't have the time to commit to it," Theo Walcott said via 'Goal'. "It takes a lot of time."
"He wanted to get me into one of the Quidditch games with the ball and all that stuff. I had no time but it would have been great," he added. "My wife Mel was in one. My old man and my brother are in one as well. My mum might have been in it as well."
Members of Walcott's family were able to make it on the screen while he was stuck with his obligations at Arsenal. Who knows? If things had worked out he could have forged a career in filmmaking.
