Paul Gascoigne was one of England's great figures in the 1990s, especially at that World Cup in Italy. Now, some are beginning to compare him with Jack Grealish, the Aston Villa striker who already shows off with the national team and who was sought after by Pep Guardiola.
"I don't see myself as Gascoigne, but I would like to be like him because of the way he played football. I would like to be compared to 'Gazza', an absolute icon," Grealish himself admitted to 'Sky Sports' after the match.
"Along with Wayne Rooney he was probably one of the greatest players in England in the last 30 years. If I had to choose one of the two, the first would be 'Gazza'," he said.
Grealish, who said he wanted to have a long career with England, was sought after by Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, who always held him in high esteem.
One of those players who sticks with one club. He debuted in the first team of Aston Villa at 19 years old and now, at 25, is showing his ability in the Premier League.
