The Eiffel Tower awaits for Ronaldo

French magazine 'France Football', who are in charge of giving out the individual award, have decided to pull out all the stops for this year's Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Last year, Ronaldo picked up his fourth trophy at the Santiago Bernabeu, during a presentation which left a lot to be desired. This, along with the launch of FIFA's 'The Best' awards, made 'France Football' realise they needed to make some changes.

That's why the ceremony to announce the winner of this year's Ballon d'Or will take place at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. One of the most recognisable structures in the world will be the backdrop for the award which recognises the best footballer in the world, and Cristiano Ronaldo is favourite to take it home.

The Real Madrid and Portugal forward, who won FIFA's 'The Best' award and is in search of his fifth Ballon d'Or, will compete with Messi and Neymar for the trophy. 'L'Equipe' will broadcast the ceremony on Thursday 7 December from 19:45 (CET). Who will be the winner?
