The Bundesliga was the first of the big leagues to return and they are already thinking about taking one step further: they want to open their stands to fans. According to the German press, they are working with the idea of having fans back in September.

In Germany, they are one step ahead. The Bundesliga returned on 15th May. Other leagues such as La Liga and Serie A will not do so until June.

The health protocol is strict. That is the only way to avoid all risks. And it is inevitable to think about when fans will return to the stands.

According to 'Bild', the idea that the Federation are working with is that fans can gradually return to stadiums in September, by the 2020-21 season.

The 11th September would be the date that the Bundesliga now have on the table. Everything will depend on COIVD-19. Another weekend in September isn't being ruled out.

"If the daily infection figures continue to fall and there are between 200 and 300, it is possible to play with fans again", medical expert, Klaus-Dieter Zastrow, recently said.
