The biggest 'bluffs' of the transfer market

The summer transfer market meant some important moves between big European clubs, but not all the millionaire investments have had good sports performances that were expected of them so far.

Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus)

Mino Raiola offered Matthijs de Ligt to half of Europe and, despite known interest in being at Camp Nou, the Dutchman ended up signing with the highest bidder. However, his performance at Juventus is still far from what is expected of a player worth 85 million euros.

Harry Maguire (Manchester United)

The most expensive centre-back in history landed at Old Trafford witht he mission of straightening out a free-falling Manchester United. This could not be any further from the truth. The former Leicester defender is unable to cut the bleeding suffered by the 'Red Devils', who are already eager to get to January to re-sign.

Nicolás Pépé (Arsenal)

Lille sold Nicolas Pepe at a star price, but in London there are some people who have started to doubt the 80 million euro investment. The Ivorian striker has only scored one goal (from a penalty) and his performances have not given anybody anything to be optimistic about.

Tanguy Ndombélé (Tottenham)

Mauricio Pochettino invested 60 million euros in signing the Frenchman from Olympique Lyon as a new defensive piece. However, the midfielder has not yet adapted fully to the Premier League and Tottenham are in the midst of an alarming sports crisis.

Malcom (Zenit)

He left FC Barcelona in search for a first-team place, but Malcom has not started out well in Russia. The Brazilian has not played with Zenit since the 10th August and has had to go through surgery, causing him to be out until 2020 at least.

Giovani Lo Celso (Tottenham)

The Argentinian is called upon to lead Tottenham's midfield alongside Tanguy Ndombele. However, Lo celso, like the Frenchman, has not yet settled in London either, where he has suffered a whirlwind of injuries that have cut his projection.
