The 5 finalists for Club of the Year 2025

The five finalists for the award for the best team of the season have also been announced, which will be presented on 22nd September during the Ballon d'Or ceremony. The contenders are: Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Chelsea and Botafogo.

Hansi Flick's Barcelona was one of the big surprises of the year: the Catalan side won the domestic treble, taking home La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

One step higher in the race for the award is Paris Saint-Germain, which had a historic season: after dominating at home, the Parisian club won the Champions League for the first time and also reached the final of the new Club World Cup.

There are two English teams among the candidates: Arne Slot's Liverpool, who returned to triumph in the Premier League with authority, and Chelsea, who compensated for an up-and-down season in the league with victory in the Conference League and the Club World Cup, beating PSG in the final.

Finally, outside Europe, the only club present is Botafogo, winner of its first Copa Libertadores and its third national title. The Brazilian club also reached the round of 16 of the Club World Cup, completing a season to remember.
