"Talent more important than hard work"

Ronaldo has been criticised for many things over the years, but his commitment to excellence has never been up for debate.
It is well-known that the Portuguese abstains from alcohol and one look at his physique will tell you that he is as committed an athlete as you will ever see.
In an interview with 'Freekickerz', the Real Madrid legend has given this thoughts as to the relationship between talent and hard work and what it really takes to become the best in the world.
Though his answer to the question 'Talent or hard work?' may have surprised more than a few people.
"Talent," he replies almost without drawing breath. "If you have no talent you might as well forget about it. But of course, if you are talented and you decide to work hard as well you will become a much better player."
The 32-year-old wasn't done there though, further justifying his response by saying: "If you're not talented you can work as hard as you like, but you'll never become a great player. That's why I believe that talent is more important than hard work."
That's easy for Ronaldo to say. The Portugal international was lucky enough to be supremely talented and successfully combined that with hard work to go form being a scruffy trickster at Manchester United, to one of the greatest goalscorers in modern times for 'Los Blancos'.
Do you agree with Ronaldo's point of view?
