PRVWThe uproar from that game meant VAR became mandatory from the quarter-finals. Now the teams meet in the last 16. Once again, one round before mandatory VAR. Surely it can't happen again?
-
PRVWSwansea are looking for revenge after losing 2-3 to Man City in the quarter-finals in 2019. They were 2-1 up, but a non-existent penalty and an Aguero offside goal knocked them out. Despite Swansea hosting VAR trials and being in the top flight for seven years, the game did not have VAR as the Swans were in the second tier. At that time, VAR was only mandatory from the semis.
-
PRVWPeter Bankes is the referee for this one. We have no VAR this evening as Swansea are not in the Premier League. It is only used in all ties from the quarter-finals. Before then, just at PL grounds.
-
PRVW2 degrees and dry in South Wales this evening.
-
PRVWNaughton, Bennett, Biswell, Hourihane and Andre Ayew drop out of the XI.
-
