According to widespread reports, the Welsh side have agreed a compensation deal with Ostersunds, paving the way for the Englishman to take over in South Wales.
The 'Swans' have been on the search for a new manager ever since parting ways with Carlos Carvalhal following their relegation from the Premier League and quickly identified Potter as their top target.
However, the move hit the rocks over compensation and with the Swedish season already underway, matters were complicated somewhat.
Those issues appear to have been resolved though, and tt is understood that Potter will bring assistant Billy Reid with him to Swansea, with the 43-year-old expected to complete the move next week.
Potter secured three promotions during his time at Ostersunds, along with a Swedish Cup and successfully established the club in the top flight.
Since taking over the club in 2011, Potter has overseen the implementation of an attacking, possession-based style at Ostersunds, something that is thought to have been key in Swansea's decision to hire him.
