Andrea Berta, the Atletico sporting director says that suspending the transfer window due to the coronavirus stoppage would be the right decision.
"For me, the summer transfer window could be removed and teams could stick with their current players until January, when the window would reopen. That would be the most logical solution," Berta told 'Tuttosport', who spoke to several leading figures of European football. "At that moment in time, the clubs will be clearer as to the losses they have suffered and what investments they can afford to make," he pointed out.
Igli Tare, the Lazio sporting director, prefers to finish the current season and then decide what to do with the transfer window. "The priority is to fight against the virus and end the season otherwise it would be awful for football's finances. We hope to play the league to a conclusion even if we don't know when will be able to resume. Only after that should we think about organising the transfer window. I'm not entertaining the idea of a window which is open
"There will be many swaps, a situation which will make football seem closer to the NBA. It is presumed that some clubs, for example in Germany will benefit from the current crisis more than others because their underlying economy is stronger," was Fabio Paratici, the Juve sporting director's take on the situation.
"Apart from the dates which have not been determined, I think that inevitably it will be a poorer market and there could be a lot more swaps. We will see a general reduction of prices because the problem is global. It will be important to try and use our own academies," Beppe Marotta, the Inter CEO told 'Tuttosport'.
