Reportedly, the Potters are in advanced negotiations with recently promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers over their striker Benik Afobe, and are prepared to shell out almost £12million for the 25-year-old.
In a strange move, Wolves only signed Afobe on a permanent basis for £10million from Bournemouth last week. The striker had been on loan at the Molineaux last season and opted to commit his future to the club.
In addition to Afobe, newly-appointed manager at Stoke, Gary Rowett, has his eyes on West Brom's James McClean too, but the two sides are struggling to reach an agreement on a figure.
Albion are said to be holding out in hope of an offer greater than £6million, but Stoke are keen not to spend more than £5million for the Republic of Ireland international.
