Stoke beat Villa to progress

Stoke City won 1-0 away to Aston Villa to reach the quarter final of the EFL Cup.

It was the second shock of the day with Brentford beating Fulham earlier on.

The Potters won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Sam Vokes. They have made the quarter-finals for the first time since 2011-12.

The result means that there will be two Championship sides in the draw. They will be joined by Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle, and Liverpool/Arsenal.
