Serbia leave Doha without winning a match. They lost against Brazil and Switzerland and drew with Cameroon. However, Dragan Stojkovic did not give up: "I will stay. We are competing for European Championship qualification and we want to qualify for the finals after 24 years," said the coach.
Stojkovic took charge of the Balkan national team in March 2021 for the World Cup in Qatar. The coach has assured that he will remain with the national team: "I congratulate Switzerland for the victory. We are not happy with the result but we had problems from the beginning. Physical problems, injuries to key players that we tried to bring in. This was a setback for us.
"I shook hands with all the players and told them that we have to be great both when things are going well and when things are not going well.
"You have to analyse the defensive problems. This is the World Cup and you have to have all the players in good form. I was worried because I knew it would be very difficult to get a good result," he concluded.
