Squad lose faith in Koeman's 4-2-3-1 formation
Ronald Koeman's 4-2-3-1 formation is in doubt and it is being criticised by his own players. Programme 'Que T'hi Jugues' on 'Cadena SER' says that the dressing room no longer have so much confidence in this system. The players think you have to be more flexible. The usual formation before was a 4-3-3.
The coach has been repeating this formation all season since his arrival apart from some slight variations. His players, according to the radio station, think that there should be some more changes.
It is worth remembering that the coaches' 4-2-3-1 formation has allowed players like De Jong to adapt better. The midfielder was playing slightly further forward under other coaches and the Dutchman had already said that he would play him in the same place he did for the Netherlands.
But this has not stopped Barca from slipping up on occasions. The last of them was the loss to newly promoted Cadiz. The squad are a bit tired of the same system and it is in Koeman's hand to change it, vary it a bit more or keep it.
