Delays in the construction of the club's new White Hart Lane ground have forced the Londoners to continue playing at Wembley, but the game against Wolves on December 29 is the last home game confirmed to take place at the national stadium.
The next round of the Champions League is due to take place in mid-February, but with no confirmed finish date for their news stadium forthcoming, Spurs have been foced to consider back-up options.
With the draw for the last 16 set to take place on Monday, it would normally be expected for teams to confirm which ground they will use at that stage, though on this occasion it seems as if UEFA are adopting a flexible approach.
"UEFA is in close contact with Tottenham Hotspur FC regarding this matter," they revealed in a statement.
"A decision will be taken in due course and in any case before February 2019."
According to UEFA's laws, a team must play all of their Champions League games at the same venue, though in this case venue applies to the city the club plays in.
"In principle, a club must play all its matches in the competition at one and the same venue," the rule reads.
"As of the play-offs, the venue can be changed only based on a UEFA decision.
"A venue may be the ground of the home club or another ground in the same or another city, within the territory of its association."
