Spurs regained the lead after Dele Alli header

1-0 SPURS (Vertonghen)

It only took 8 minutes for Mauricio Pochettino's side to break the deadlock. After 'Magpies' goalkeeper Dubravka parried the ball out for a corner, an Eriksen outswinging cross found the head of Davinson Sanchez in the box who flicked the ball towards his centre-half partner Jan Vertonghen.

Vertonghen nodded the ball past Dubravka via the underside of the crossbar, and though at first there looked debate as to whether the ball crossed the line, the goal was confirmed by technology. 

1-1 (Joselu)

Only 3 minutes later, Newcastle equalised as Scottish midfielder Matt Ritchie lofted a delicate left-footed cross into the area much to the delight of on-rushing forward Joselu.

The Spaniard lost Sanchez in the box and headed the ball into the far corner past French international Hugo Lloris. Honours even. 

2-1 SPURS (Alli)

Completing a trio of first-half headed goals, Dele Alli put Spurs back in the lead after right-back Serge Aurier curled a cross towards the far post, where Alli had made a trademark late run. 

The ball flew off Alli's head across the goalkeeper into the far corner, and Spurs find themselves en route to their first 3 points of the season.
