It is apparently not just a mere idea. The president of the club, Frederico Varandas, has apparently started conversations with the Juve star's inner circle to see what he thinks of the idea. Even people close to the footballer have hinted that they would be favourable to the idea and would help to make it possible as soon as possible. The names which are being considered are two: The 'CR7 Stadium' and the 'Alvalade CR7' although they could just be two names used as a base. A different name could end being chosen.
Cristiano Ronaldo is an emblem of the club, the best footballer to have ever come out of their youth teams, so this idea would emphasise what he means to Sporting. The footballer would then have a whole hosts of things named after him which would be long lasting. In Portugal, Madeira airport, a museum and a hotel already bear his name. Curiously, Cristiano has never played at the new Jose Alvalade, since it was opened months he was sold to Man Utd.
