Spanish court denies La Liga's appeal against Olmo

The central court of the Contentious-Administrative has rejected the precautionary measure requested by La Liga against the resolution of the Superior Sports Council (CSD) in favor of Barcelona and their players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, which maintains the registration of both.
As confirmed by sources of the National Court to ‘EFE’, the court has made it provisional, so now gives a period of three days to the State Attorney (representing the CSD) for their allegations.
In addition, it has yet to decide whether the same court is competent or whether it is the Chamber of Litigation.
Last Monday, the football association confirmed the filing of a contentious-administrative appeal and requested precautionary measures against the CSD Resolution in favour of Barca and their players Olmo and Víctor.
La Liga consider that the CSD resolution, dated April 3rd, "seriously violates the regulatory framework in terms of economic control and the processing of sports licenses, undermines the general interest of the competition and compromises its integrity by violating the principle of equality between clubs".
According to the employers' association chaired by Javier Tebas, “all this justifies the need for an urgent judicial response that, through the adoption of the requested precautionary measures, guarantees the competitive balance and the financial sustainability of professional competition”.
La Liga had already stated on the 3rd its intention to go to the ordinary courts against the CSD's resolution that upheld the appeal of Barcelona and both players.
According to La Liga, the licenses of the two players expired automatically on December 31st, 2024, at the end of the duration of the same, agreed between them and the club, which has no balance or capacity for the registration of the players, since its interim financial statements for the first half of the 2024-2025 season do not include the amount referred to the operation related to the VIPS boxes, contrary to what was communicated by the club, estimated at 100 million euros.
