Barcelona have only faced this team 2 times, two clashes played in 1997-8 in the Europa Super Cup, which finished 2-0 at Camp Nou (with goals from Luis Enrique and Rivaldo) an a 1-1 draw at Westfalenstadion (Goals from Giovanni and Heinrich).
However, more recently, Borussia has come across other Spanish teams: Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Malaga and this is how things went in Dortmund:
Borussia Dortmund 4-0 Atletico Madrid (2018-19)
This was the latest visit by a Spanish team to Signal Iduna Park... and it was a disastrous result. Simeone suffered one of his worst results at Atletico Madrid during this game, of the Group stages of the Champions League. Witsel, Guerreiro (who scored two goals) and Jadon Sancho were the goalscorers. Of course, Atletico got their revenge at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, where they beat Dortmund 2-0.
Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Real Madrid (2017-18)
This was Real Madrid's last visit to Dortmund, as they had visited them on several occassions in previous years, and they went away feeling happy. Bale and Cristiano managed to score the goals and take the lead whilst Aubameyang cut in the second half. The last goal was put by Cristiano in 79 ', drawing the final 1-3.
Borussia Dortmund 2-2 Real Madrid (2016-17)
Another meeting in the Group stages between the Spanish and German team. This time it came to a draw. Cristiano and Verane got the two goals for Madrid, whilst Aubameyang anf Schurrle (3 minutes from the end), scored for the Germans.
Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Real Madrid (2013-14)
This was a very dangerous result. Madrid won the first leg of the quarter-finals at home 3-0, but Borussia won 2-0 thanks to a double from Reus. Fortunately for Real Madrid, they did not get a third goal, which would have meant that they were eliminated from the competition. Ancelotti's team conquered this year.
Borussia 4-1 Real Madrid (2012-13)
A game that surprised the football world.Borussia Dortmund came back in teh semi-finals after falling 2-0 behind at Santiago Bernabeu and, thanks to four goals from Lewandowski, they made their way to the finals, where they lost to Bayern Munich. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal that did not help Madrid at all.
Borussia 3-2 Málaga (2012-13)
Without a doubt, one of the games that hurt the Spanish fans the most. Malaga, making history in the Champions League, got to the quarters and ended up with a 0-0 draw at La Rosaleda. In Germany they were 1-2 up in the 82nd minute, but Reus scored in the 91st... and Felipe Santana scored the 3rd goal in the final seconds of the game, which caused a lot of controversy, meaning they qualified for the semi-finals.
