Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the targets for Barcelona. The central defender is not particularly against this idea and in fact, he is willing to wait for Barcelona to make an offer. Spaletti, however, does not share that view.
In the case of Luciano Spaletti, the issue is not him going to Barcelona, he just does not want to lose the central defender altogether. In fact, he would even be willing to resign if the Senegalese left the squad.
That is what Italian media outlet 'Corriere dello Sport' says this Saturday. They even reveals Spaletti's reaction to Koulibaly being sold: "Are you selling him? A second later, I'll resign."
The thing is Napoli could lose many players and Spaletti does not want to compete in Serie A with a mediocre squad. Insigne will play in the MLS and there are rumours of Mertens and Ospina alos leaving so, if Koulibaly leaves, the quality of the team will be significantly reduced.
The Senegalese defender's contract expires on 30th June 2023 and he is continuing to turn down Napoli's attempts to renew him. Juventus and PSG are also wanting a footballer who, if he left, could cause an involuntary domino effect which would see the coach also depart.
