The Spanish blind team sealed their place at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics on Sunday, by qualifying for the final of the European Championships after beating England on penalties.

The side managed by Jesús Bargueiras beat England under the rain at the Paralympic Preparation Centre in Rome, the tournament's host, thanks to a spectacular performance from goalkeeper Sergio Rodríguez, who saved 3 penalties in the shootout.

Rodríguez replaced the first choice goalie, Pedro Gutiérrez who picked up a muscle injury and was decisive in the penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw in normal time.

When the match ended, the Spanish players gave the English players a guard of honour as they left the pitch, and will play the winner of France v Turkey on in the final on Tuesday.
