After Manchester City dismantled Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea in a 6-0 thriller, they overtake Liverpool to become Premier League leaders on a goal difference of 10. For Graeme Souness, this means that Jurgen Klopp's side cannot afford to lose any more games if they want to re-establish their league lead and emerge victorious at the end of the season.
Luckily for the Reds, they have one game in hand so will be able to challenge for the lead again when they face Manchester United on Sunday 24th February. However, they will first encounter Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League. Whilst Liverpool can afford one draw if they win the rest of their matches, Souness believes it is vital that Liverpool collect maximum points from their remaining games until it is mathematically impossible for them to lose out on the Premier League title.
