The 18-year old made his competitive appearance for his boyhood club in the Europa League win on Thursday night.
He is an England U-18 international and won the World Cup with the U-17 side last season, and seems to be on the ascendancy at Arsenal.
A video on the club's official Instagram video showed him explaining how he will mark the occasion.
"This is the first Arsenal shirt that I've worn - and it's going to go to my mum." Smith Rowe explained.
Unai Emery took time after the game to praise the midfielder, implying that he might be making more appearances for the 'Gunners' as the season goes on.
"I am very happy with his work on the pitch, but not only today. It's every day. He's starting today's match because his performances have been good in every training session." the manager said.
