Smalling goes viral after acrobatic goal line clearance

Roma beat Napoli 2-1 in matchday 11 of Serie A. One of the authors of the win was Chris Smalling who kept Di Lorenzo from scoring with a huge acrobatic clearance.

Roma and Napoli faced each other after their goal fests in the previous matchday. Furthermore, only 1 point separated them in the table, therefore things were very equal.

This was made evident on the park. It was a game of power to power, but it was the home side who got the win.

Nicoló Zaniolo and Jordan Veretout scored the goals for Roma, although it was another Roma player who stole the spotlight.

Di Lorenzo headed it at the back post and with Pau López beaten, Chris Smalling popped up to clear the ball on almost the goal line with a great piece of defensive play.
