Steling scored 23 goals last season in what many are writing off as a one-off, but his goal against the 'Cherries' means he now has nine goals and eight assists from just 18 games in all competition so far this term.
Speaking following Saturday's game, Silva backed his team-mate to match and maybe even better his tally from last season.
"I hope he can get more than he got last season. He has been in fantastic form," he enthused.
"He is so aggressive with the ball and so focused on the goal. If he continues like this he will help us win some titles."
Much has been made about whether City can match their high standard from last season after they broke record after record, but Bernardo is confident that there is more to come.
"It's almost the same squad with some improvements, like Riyad (Mahrez), and more time together," he explained.
"So, yes, we might be a bit better. We want to break the records of last season, but it's not easy."
Finally, despite not being at their ruthless best, the Portuguese expressed his happiness with three more vital points.
"It was not an easy game. We knew we were playing a strong side and after our first goal we didn't play as well as usual. We weren't as aggressive defensively or offensively," he lamented.
"But the reaction in the second half was very good and we're happy with the points and the win."
