David Silva has revealed that Spain are used to being labelled as favourites in International tournaments, but has urged his teammates to remain level headed at Euro 2016.
Despite going into the tournament as two time defending champions, Spain were not the clear favourites after their extremely disappointing show at the 2014 World Cup.
However, after convincing wins in their opening two games, beating Czech Republic 1-0 and Turkey 3-0, Spain have shown why they currently hold the crown.
Whilst not doubting that they can handle the pressure, Silva has urged the team to stay focused if they are to make history with a third consecutive trophy.
"At this stage it is normal that they make you favourites. We have won the last two European Championships and also for the games in the past few days," the Manchester City attacker told reporters.
"But we need to keep our feet on the ground. We are calm and we need to continue that way.
"We have had a very good start. We have won two games and now we have a very difficult game against Croatia.
"We need to win or draw to stay top of the group. We need to maintain our level and if it remains so high, we can win the tournament."
