"Sign Cristiano Ronaldo again? At the age of 38?

One of the topics of the summer is the continuity or departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. The Portuguese striker is determined to leave the Red Devils, but his departure from Old Trafford seems to be on hold. He played in the second half last weekend against Brighton.
His manager, Erik ten Hag, left him on the bench for the Premier League opener as punishment for leaving early in the previous match. The summer has been full of rumours about his new team and clubs such as Bayern Munich, Chelsea and even Atletico Madrid emerged as candidates.
A return to Real Madrid was mentioned as an alternative, but from the Santiago Bernabeu offices the idea of going for the Portuguese did not even cross their minds. This was made clear by Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president, who was asked about Cristiano's return by a fan at the training camp hotel.
"President, sign Cristiano," repeated those present. Then, the president turned around and answered sharply. "Who, Cristiano, again? At 38 years of age?", and he walked off laughing. It is clear that seeing the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as a 'Merengue' is ruled out.
