Xherdan Shaqiri provided the perfect response to being left on the bench for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday, as he proved the match-winner, with two second half goals.
With the teams locked at 1-1, Shaqiri scored two goals, via the help of a pair of fortuitous deflections, to give his side all three points at Anfield.
Just three minutes after entering the field of play, Shaqiri would put Liverpool ahead, before adding a second (the side's third) to secure the points.
After the victory, the Swiss showed his pride in his personal display, and explained his delight in being the difference for his side.
He told 'Sky Sports': "I was looking at the game and saw there were a lot of opportunities for when I come on. I was happy when I came on and today was a good day for me. It was perfect."
The former Bayern Munich player has made 18 appearances for Liverpool so far this season, scoring five goals.
He added: "'ve started a lot of games this season, only 11 players can play. But the players on the outside can help the team. When teams win games they need 23 players not just 11 - when you achieve something the whole team achieves it, not just 11. No player is happy when he's on the bench, but this is normal."
