It was just a few days ago that the news broke of a possible purchase of Tiburones Rojos by Sevilla, as the Sevilla president, José Castro, confirmed.
It seems that the Andalusian side tried to buy the side from Veracruz. 'El Universal' confirmed on Sunday that there will be no purchase.
"We received a proposal to study the option of linking us to Tiburones from Veracruz," the aforementioned media quoted from sources in the Sevilla board.
And it adds: "But the current situation at a national and global level, with the very serious crisis caused by the coronavirus, means that we are completely ruling out starting this project at this time because the scenario is not conducive to it".
Something more than 18 million euros is what Sevilla had to pay to take over the debts and own the Mexican side, something that, according to the aforementioned source, Sevilla aren't contemplating for now.
