Xerdan Shaqiri's good performance at the last Euros could earn him a new contract. Faced with a lack of opportunities at Liverpool, the Swiss has asked to leave.
'Sky Sports' explained that up to two Premier League teams are interested in Shaqiri. Two teams who also share the fact that they will be playing in Europe next season.
They are Sevilla, who are looking for a replacement for Luuk de Jong who could leave, and Villarreal, who want to shore up their attack and give Gerard Moreno a bit more rest.
But both Spanish sides will face stiff competition if they are to land the Swiss international, with Napoli also on the hunt for Shaqiri.
Liverpool will therefore let their player leave for a fee of no less than 15 million euros. With less than a month to go until the end of the transfer window, the stakes are high.
