Seven options for Madrid if Kroos leaves

With only ten games to go until the end of the La Liga, and Real Madrid are fighting over second place with city rivals Atletico, a crucial position given the fact that Barcelona now appear out of reach at the top. 

The arrival of Zinedine Zidane has revitalised Los Blancos, and has triggered a number of rumours to circulate surrounding potential signings and departures. Spanish newspaper 'AS' has assured readers that central midfielder Toni Kroos will move on this summer, sparking speculation over who could replace the influential German in the middle of the park. 'AS' have given seven possible options.

In terms of those already at the club, Fede Valverde and Marcos Llorente could come into the equation. Valverde is a brave footballer who fought well under both Lopetegui and Solari, and now hopes to do the same with Zidane. It has been a similar story for Llorente, who knows this could be his one and only chance to cement a place in the team. 

Adrien Rabiot is the first potential signing, with the Frenchman also linked with Barcelona. He has fallen out of favour at current club PSG due to a number of controversies. In a similar situation is Marco Verratti, who also wants to leave the French giants. N'Golo Kante is also reportedly being lined up by Real, but a transfer from Chelsea would cost something in the region of 100 million euros. 

Dortmund's Julian Weigl has been touted for a move to the Spanish capital, while fellow Bundesliga man Thiago Alcantara has also been linked. The latter is a crucial piece of Bayern Munich's current squad, however, and to tempt him into a move would be difficult.
