After throwing away La Liga, Barca are focussing their efforts on going for the Champions League, the only competition which Barca have got left.
Bartomeu, less than a week before the Napoli game, gave an interview to 'Sport' in which he spoke about many topics.
After slamming Arthur's attitude, the Barca president made clear that he had never thought about sacking Setien.
"He has a contract with us. In no moment did we think about a change of coach. When we signed him, we explained to him that it was a project for this season and the following one," Bartomeu said.
"Judging a coach off a few months, with a coronavirus break in the middle, is very difficult. Arturo Vidal has already said it, they've had little time to get to know each other and work."
"I know some reports came out saying that if we did not win two games, we would replace him with Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, but that was never spoken about. Not with Abidal, Planes or the board. Setien is our coach," he added.
Lastly, Bartomeu touched on the rumours that Xavi or Laurent Blanc would be the next coach. "We've not spoken to anybody. With Xavi yes because we have a good relationship, but he renewed with his club not long ago. Some day he'll come and coach Barca and he'll decide that," he concluded.
