Ibrahimovic has become the latest in a long line of veteran European players to make the switch across the pond to the MLS, announcing that he had terminated his contract with old club Manchester United, and signed a deal with American side Los Angeles Galaxy.
The Swede joined United on a free transfer in July 2016, a year after Bastian Schweinsteiger had arrived at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich. The veteran duo played together with the 'Red Devils' for less than a season before the German left Manchester, signing for Chicago Fire.
So, maybe he has the right to feel like Ibra is a bit of a copycat, and he made his feelings clear in a light-hearted post on Twitter, welcoming Galaxy's new signing to the league. "Stop following me Ibra," he posted. "First United, now MLS. Welcome to the MLS my friend!"
