After his absence from numerous national squad selections, Lionel Messi will return to Argentina's line-up to face Venezuela in a friendly ahead of the Copa America.
"We are very happy that Messi returns. Despite my youth, I have the possibility to coach him. I have to try to get the team to accompany him to give his best", Scaloni confirmed in the press conference ahead of the clash.
Scaloni knows well that Messi is key to the quality of the squad. "We hope that with his return the team can achieve more", said the Argentine coach.
Despite Messi's presence, Scaloni did not want to hear people talking about individuals. "We are a great team who all do out bit", the coach warned, aware of the difficulty in previous stages.
Lautaro Martinez will accompany Messi up front, leaving Dybala out, which Scaloni did talk about. "They are both compatible, but we have to put both to work", he confirmed.
One of the other themes that Scaloni discussed was Mauro Icardi, absent from the national team. "His situation does not concern us", he stated, on Icardi's ongoing situation with Inter Milan.
