The Bosnian's future remains up in the air in Turin. Despite having been a major part of the Juventus side for quite some time now, the club's need to balance the books following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has made them more susceptible to bids from elsewhere than in recent years.
Following Sarri's arrival in the English capital, Chelsea have emerged as one of Pjanic's major suitors.
Sarri admitted at his unveiling that the current Chelsea squad lacked the requisite quality in the middle of midfield to play in his preferred style, suggesting that a playmaker would be next through the door at Stamford Bridge.
Pjanic certainly fits that mould, but having previously been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea would no doubt face a fight for his signature.
The 28-year-old made 45 appearances for Juventus last season, scoring seven goals and laying on ten assists.
Bringing in a player of Pjanic's quality would certainly be a statement of intent from Sarri, who is thought to be unable to raid former club Napoli due to a gentleman's agreement.
