At just 22 years of age, Sané is one of Pep Guardiola's most important players at Manchester City, but he was left out of Germany's World Cup squad in what was a surprising decision.
Before the first match of the Nations League, Toni Kroos gave Sané, who played just seven minutes in the game against France, some advice: "I think he's a player who has everything to be a world-class footballer. What he needs is for people to tell him from time to time what he has to do."
Little over a month later, the talented youngster responded to the Real Madrid midfielder's words in an interview with 'FourFourTwo': "If I play badly, it's not like I don't care. I respect criticisms and it's good for me that I can look different. Criticism is always an incentive to improve.
"I was disappointed when I heard that I wasn't going to the World Cup, but I told myself that I had to prove a lot more and I took it as a motivation," said Sané.
