Sancho reflected on Chelsea’s missed opportunity against Ipswich Town

Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge, a result that dented their Champions League qualification hopes and left them reflecting on missed opportunities. Jadon Sancho, scorer of the equaliser, expressed his disappointment after the game. “We dropped valuable points at home, and we know each game ahead of us is going to be very tough,” Sancho said.

The England international came off the bench in the 79th minute to rescue a point for Chelsea. The Blues found themselves behind early on when Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson scored for Ipswich in the first half. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, the Blues failed to convert them into goals.

“It’s very disappointing. We had so many chances to seal the game, but their keeper made spectacular saves. We knew going into the game that Ipswich are very good on the counter-attack, and it’s unfortunate that we let it slip.”  “We really want that Champions League spot,” he added. “It’s not over; we’ve still got six games to go. From now on, every game is going to have to be a final," he added.

Despite the setback, he remains optimistic about Chelsea's chances of finishing in the top five. Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, one point behind Manchester City in fifth place.
