Having torn up the Bundesliga in the opening third of the current campaign, teenager Jadon Sancho impressed on home soil against the United States at Wembley on Thursday.
The 18 year old was outstanding, particularly in the first half of the match, as he registered yet another assist, in the build up to Trent Alexander-Arnold's first international goal.
Back in his native London, Sancho looked far senior than his 18 years of age, as he was one of the brightest performers, as England crusied past the USA by three goals to nil.
End product is always the question mark with young players on stages such as these. But Sancho demonstrated every ounce of his composed, confident and cheeky personality, in an incredible home debut for the national side.
Sancho had pundits in raptures once more on Thursday with his assured display, with former England internationals Jamie Redknapp and Alex Scott speaking wax-lyrical about the Dortmund dynamo.
Redknapp, also formerly of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, told 'Sky Sports': "Jadon Sancho. 18 years of age. What a talent. I was so impressed with him. It's a great example of a young player who has taken an opportunity to play abroad, got himself into the first team. He's taken a chance, a real gamble, been brave and it's paid off."
England and Arsenal Women's icon Alex Scott was also astounded by Sancho's display, saying: "It's that confidence that he shows. Every time he got on the ball. I can't actually remember him giving the ball away - only in that final bit where he's really trying to make something happen. He knows when to take players on and when to pick out a pass. I suppose that's the hard thing - sometimes you can do too much and lose the ball."
Not only did Sancho impress former players and fans alike; the young star's statistics also made for good reading, proving that he has both the substance and the style required, to take him to the very top of the game.
Sancho played the full 90 minutes on his home bow for England, recording one assist, making 41 passes in the opposition half ,88.2% of which found their target. He was also useful in defence, making two interceptions and regaining possession 11 times.
If there is one thing for sure, Sancho has all the attributes any top player needs to be the very best. The only question that remains, is whether he will continue to flourish and make crucial decisions, at the correct times in matches for both club and country.
