Samuel Eto’o, who won the UEFA Champions League three times, was twice an African Cup of Nations winner, and lifted top-flight league titles in both Spain and Italy across a stellar playing career, will represent his Samuel Eto’o Foundation on stage at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Real Madrid and Spain legend Hierro will join Eto’o in a panel of legendary former footballers that will also feature Fernando Sanz and Predrag Mijatovic, who both won the Champions League with Real, alongside Hierro, in 1998.
Former Afghanistan women’s national team captain Khalida Popal is another must-not-miss ex-player, with Popal speaking while she continues to help extract people from her homeland since it fell to the Taliban.
Those efforts have so far seen Popal emancipate more than 150 people from the country and WFS Europe give the Girl Power Organisation founder a platform to continue giving a voice to the voiceless in her fight to protect the human rights of her compatriots.
The event also includes a number of football’s biggest names off the pitch. Chief among them are the likes of LaLiga president Javier Tebas and Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Ángel Gil, while attendees will also hear from representatives of Juventus, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL, the Bundesliga, and many more from the biggest clubs, federations and leagues in the world.
Taking place from 22-23 September, WFS Europe will welcome over 1,200 people to the stadium.
People all over the world will also tune-in online, with the 2021 event the first hybrid version in World Football Summit history allowing digital access to anyone that cannot make it to Madrid.
In total, more than 100 industry leading speakers will discuss the most pressing issues in football over the two-days, attracting 200+ club representatives from more than 120 countries.
Tickets are still available for all ePass, Delegate and Corporate passes and can be purchased, here; https://worldfootballsummit.com/attend-2021/
