Mo Salah is not the Mo Salah of a year ago. He has played 44 games this season in all competitions - just as he did last season - but his goalscoring statistics are completely different. On 17 March 2018 he scored a remarkable four goals against Watford as Liverpool swept to a 5-0 win.
Fast-forward a year to 17 March 2019 and Salah is playing against Fulham, but cannot get on the scoresheet as Liverpool scrape a narrow 2-1 victory. The English press have already commented on this run of form, and how it is accentuated when playing the big clubs.
It is a run that Liverpool can bear thanks to the consistency of Roberto Firmino and the recent explosion of Sadio Mane in front of goal. Salah, however, has failed to score in his last seven appearances.
