Sam Kerr scored the opening goal for Australia in this year's Women's World Cup, scoring after 22 minutes against Italy, although in the end the European side managed to come out victorious with two late goals.
Kerr, the big star on the Australian side who has broken records in the NWSL, played hommage to an Australia football hero, and arguably the greatest Australian footballer of all time, Tim Cahill.
The forward ran towards the corner flag, just as Cahill used to and did the boxing action.
On social media, Cahill reacted the the gesture and said "Loving the celebration"
