Salah wins Premier League Golden Boot

Mohamed Salah claimed the 2017-18 Premier League Golden Boot on Sunday evening, preventing Harry Kane from winning the award for the third consecutive season.

The Egyptian forward topped off a flawless debut season with a goal against Brighton & Hove Albion to take his league tally to 32 - setting a new record.

Despite a late charge by Kane, which saw him net a brace against Leicester City in a nine-goal thriller, Salah finished two ahead to claim the bragging right of most prolific striker.

Sergio Aguero finished in third with 21 goals, a figure that could have been higher if the striker hadn't suffered a season-ending knee injury in March.

Salah's 32 goals averaged out to 0.89 per game with two coming as headers, five from the right foot, 24 from the left and only one as a spot-kick.

His incredible goalscoring prowess, combined with providing ten assists, saw the 25-year-old crowned the Premier League's Player of the Season earlier in the day too.
