Real Madrid are clear that their main rival to sign Kylian Mbappe, apart from PSG offering him a new deal, is Liverpool. The Reds have been looking more and more likely to get him in the last few months.
To start with, Liverpool are doing better financially and they have just signed a sponsorship deal with Nike, who also have a deal with Kylian Mbappe. They also have an agreement with basketball player LeBron Jones who has a very good relationship with Mbappe and he is also one of Liverpool's shareholders.
But, in the last few days, there has been a major development at Anfield. Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp seem to have fallen out. It looks like it has been going on for a while.
In the last few months, the Egyptian striker has left his future up in the air. In January, in an interview with 'AS', he was asked about whether he would play for Barca or Real Madrid some day, he just said "who knows what will happen in the future."
Now, the same media outlet stresses that Salah, whose contract expires in 2023, could look to leave Liverpool. Even though Klopp played down the rumours in a press conference and said it had been sorted out, there were signs in a midweek that not all was right. When the Liverpool man was substituted in the 60th minute, his agent tweeted a full stop on Twitter.
If Salah decides to leave and Liverpool can find someone to sell him to, there would be a vacant spot up top and Liverpool would have a lot of money to help sign Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid would have to sell several players if they wanted the French star.
