Jurgen Klopp's side went into the game on the back of a poor run of form that had seen them win just once in their last five league games but they showed that their European form has not completely deserted them with a goal-fest in Slovenia.
Speaking to 'BT Sport' after the game, Salah was quick to explain that he wants to see Liverpool take their ruthless touch into their coming games after a few wasteful showings in front of goal.
'I think it's an important result for us so we have to keep looking forward and we have to win the next games,' siad the Egyptian international.
'In the last three or four games we missed many chances... and we had bad luck.
'I think that everyone has confidence that the good result is coming, so now we are in a good position and I'm sure in the next games it will be the same.'
Salah's brace took his personal record to eight goals in 13 games in all competitions for Liverpool since joining from Roma during the summer, but the 25-year-old insisted that he was only interested in getting the win.
'The team did good and we had a good result so that's the most important thing,' Salah explained.
'I'm very happy for that - seven goals or eight goals (scored since he joined Liverpool) doesn't change anything, but the most important thing for us is to concentrate on improving the results in the Premier League.
'We didn't win for two, three games, so we need to carry on and keep looking forward and win the next games.'
