2019 was one of Mane's most successful years. A player who is in his fourth season at Liverpool after making the jump from Southampton and Salzburg.
Few people know him until he exploded with Klopp and became one of the most feared players throughout Europe. An essential component of the powerful trio formed by him, Firmino and Salah, to which many teams have fallen victim.
Mane's evolution has to be seen on the grass with respect to titles he has won in the last few months. A player who is not very prone to injuries and, last season, had the best numbers of his career.
No wonder he was not even in the top ten in the 2018 Ballon d'Or list, while in the 2019 list he is in fourth place, ahead of his team-mate Salah and others like Mbappé and Lewandowski.
But no one was going to take away the African Ballon d'Or from him, which has left him as the best player of the year and, precisely, passing back to Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool player is the second Senegalese in history to win this personal title.
And he has also reached some extraordinary numbers in 2019, the year in which he lost very few games. He played 36 games in the Premier League, scoring 24 goals, giving six assists and, above all this, achieving 30 wins. This is so, Liverpool still stayed second place behind Guardiola's City.
The Champions League was also a success. He managed to lift the trophy at the Wanda Metropolitano with five goals, two assists and 13 games played, in which they won nine. In the Club World Cup and in the Super Cup he also had a reason to smile, scoring in the tournaments.
With the National Team he went far too. He was runner-up in the African Cup of Nations with three goals, one assist and six games, of which he won four and lost two.
There is no doubt that 2019 has been the best year for Mane, that in the current season already begins to show the numbers of the previous one. A true all-rounder.
